Cats of Marrakesh

From Bahia Palace to the Medina, you will find cats of all colors, shapes, and sizes. Every street corner you turn, there is a little friend waiting for you. Some will let you get close and feed them, and some will run away as soon as you look their direction. A cat is always alert, even when sleeping, they can detect sounds as high as 65 kilohertz - which is greater than any human or even dog! It seemed as though each cat in Marrakesh had a different personality depending on where they "lived" in the city. One cat in the Sikh Market just wandered straight into a little side store almost expecting to be fed and loved, while another cat in the rubble on the outskirts of town bolted away upon approach. Depending on the area in the city, you will find that cats have different personalities and natures. As Leonardo da Vinci once said, “Even the smallest feline is a masterpiece of nature," and I found that through capturing the personalities and natures of these city cats in the beautiful city of Marrakesh.
